Birthday Weekend II

Happy Birthday (again) to Eli!:

Thank you to Auntie Hannah and Uncle Will for coming to Dallas to celebrate and thanks to Auntie Hannah for making the monkey birthday cake! We all enjoyed it, but Eli wasn't so sure.... He especially didn't like having cake on his hands. Maybe he's his mother's son, after all!

Birthday Weekend I

Last weekend, SuSu and Pop and the O'Mullans came to Dallas. It also happened to be Marty's turn to take "Misha" home for the weekend. Misha is the Russian bear mascot from Marty's preschool class. He was supposed to take Misha wherever he went, as well as play the counting game that was in him backpack. On Saturday, everyone went to Marty's soccer game, and then we came home to celebrate birthdays. We had an early birthday celebration for Eli and Molly, as well as a belated celebration for Ryan and SuSu. On Sunday, we took Misha to the American Girl store, where Molly picked up a bicycle for her doll, Julie. On Sunday afternoon, we took Misha on the McKinney Avenue trolley.

Eli's New Tricks

Eli has learned how to pull up to a standing position in his crib - a little later than most babies, but there's a lot of Eli to pull up!

Also, we're seeing a less commando-crawling and more of this scooting:

Commando Crawling

Just a sampling of Eli's latest milestone...commando crawling! These videos only capture a little bit of movement - I can't seem to get the camera when he goes any farther. We were starting to get a little worried, so we're relieved to see that "Mr. Content" is somewhat interested in moving around on his own!
